Requirements

Students participating in the SFS program must:

  • Be a US citizen or permanent resident
  • Be enrolled full time in the final two years of a bachelor or master program, or three years in BS+MS or doctoral program
  • Study and do research in some aspect of information assurance / security
  • Intern at an agency1 during the summer and work for an executive agency2 for a time equal to years of support
  • Maintain at least a minimum GPA of
    • 3.0 undergraduate
    • 3.5 graduate
  • Be able to obtain a security clearance

    approval, in the cybersecurity mission of: Congress,
    interstate agency, a state, local or tribal government agency
